AirTags are Bluetooth wireless devices
Apple AirTags are Bluetooth wireless devices that let you engrave your tag with 31 different emoji. The back of the AirTag has room for four characters, but Apple offers the option to add an emoji on both sides for a nominal fee. The AirTag transmits an identifier through Bluetooth and the compatible device uploads this identifier and location data to Apple servers. The information is then available in the Find My app, which lets the owner view detailed information about where their tag is. Unlike GPS technology, AirTags do not have positional location capability. Instead, they “ping” the nearest Bluetooth-enabled device to send its location to the owner’s phone.
They can be programmed to alert their owner
iPhone users have been receiving alerts for AirTags that aren’t actually in their way. One way to prevent this is to disable the AirTag’s alert function for a day or indefinitely. The app lets the user change the notification settings for three days. After this period, the device will no longer be alerted, but it will play an alert sound via Bluetooth. However, the audio alert isn’t very useful for stalking because it’s not continuous and it’s not particularly loud. The beep can also be muffled without blocking the Bluetooth signal. Android users can also check whether their AirTag is moving with them. However, this app isn’t as comprehensive as Apple’s Find My app, and Android users will have to manually run the application.
They can be traced back to a single Apple ID

The AirTag comes with several safety protocols, and the first one is to emit an alert if it is separated from its owner. It can be lost for three days, but Apple has shortened this period to eight to 24 hours. That is still long enough to let you track it for a day or so. If your AirTag is in Lost Mode for less than a day, you can still put it into Lost Mode.
They can be tracked by Augmented Reality
