How to Uninstall Microsoft Windows

Unless you’ve experienced some kind of computer virus, there is no need to uninstall Microsoft Windows. There are a few steps you can take to ensure that you don’t end up with a new problem down the road. Luckily, it’s easy to do.

Step 1

Using the built-in uninstaller in Windows is an easy way to uninstall Microsoft Edge. It can be found in the Task Manager and in Explorer.

If you want to remove Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 or Windows 8, the steps are a little different. You can also remove it manually.

Uninstalling Office is a little more complicated. You will need to uninstall an app and its associated files. This can include Office 365 products. To start, you will need to access the Trash and move the Group Containers folder there. This will also remove any Outlook data you have stored there.

You can also use the Windows PowerShell command line to remove the Microsoft Store from your PC. You will need to enter a valid product key. You will also need to restart your PC before removing the store.

Step 2

Whether you’re a Mac or Windows user, there are steps to uninstalling Microsoft. The first step is to go into the Applications folder and look for the Microsoft Edge app. You can also use Windows update to remove the app. Once you’ve removed the app, restart your PC and you’re done.

For the record, the Microsoft Edge app isn’t the only Microsoft product that can be uninstalled. You can also uninstall Microsoft Word and Excel. If you’re a Mac user, you can also remove the Outlook and PowerPoint apps, though you’ll have to restart your PC if you want to keep them.

Uninstalling Microsoft 365 won’t remove any files created by the apps. If you want to do the right thing, you’ll want to back up your data before you remove them.

Step 3

Using the Microsoft uninstaller is easy to do and will remove most apps. However, there are some programs that are impossible to remove.

Uninstalling Microsoft Office is a bit trickier. Depending on the version of Office that you have, you may have to uninstall the application itself or delete all the files associated with it. This may include documents, presentations, and spreadsheets. It’s a good idea to back up any data you may have on the program before deleting it. Alternatively, you can uninstall Microsoft Office by using the Control Panel.

The Control Panel has a list of updates that you can install or uninstall. You can also use PowerShell to perform the same task.

You can also uninstall the Microsoft Edge browser on your Mac. This is similar to how you uninstall other apps. However, you may need to restart your computer to remove the app completely.

Step 4

Despite the fact that Microsoft is the name of the game in the Windows enclave, it is possible to uninstall its ilk on the Macintosh if you know where to look. The trick is to do it right. The best part is that you can uninstall Microsoft on the fly, assuming you have a working administrator account. The caveat is that you are left with a hard drive full of useless software. A word of caution though, is to avoid using Microsoft’s file sharing services such as OneDrive and Timeline as they may take a hit in the event of a crash.

Step 5

Whether you have an old version of Microsoft Edge or want to switch to a new browser, there are several ways to uninstall the browser on your PC. The process is similar to uninstalling any other app. The first step is to locate the Microsoft Edge app on your PC. This app can be found in the App Library or on the App Drawer. If the icon is not visible, press and hold the icon until a pop-up menu appears. Once the menu appears, choose Uninstall.

Another way to uninstall Microsoft Edge on your PC is to use the Windows update. This method is the fastest and easiest way to remove the browser. However, there are other options, such as PowerShell, if you prefer to uninstall the browser manually.
