Volkswagen in India

Volkswagen is a German car manufacturer headquartered in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony. Founded by the German Labour Front, Volkswagen is known for its iconic Beetle. Volkswagen is the flagship brand of the Volkswagen Group and the world’s largest car maker by global sales in 2016.

Skoda

The Volkswagen group, which includes Skoda and other brands, has a presence in India through its subsidiary VW India private limited. Volkswagen India private limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen group. It is one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world, with more than 5 million vehicles sold worldwide. It was founded in 1938 and currently employs more than 20,000 people across India. Volkswagen Skoda is an affordable and highly reliable vehicle.

Volkswagen Touareg

The new Volkswagen Touareg has come with a hefty price tag. Its performance is a lot better than most competitors’ and the layout is intuitive and functional. The VW Touareg has leather and metal everywhere, as well as quality plastic throughout. The Touareg sets the benchmark for interior technology. Its dual-screen infotainment system is a real highlight, with plenty of functionality and crisp responses.

Audi

When choosing between a VW or an Audi, there are a few differences between the two brands. Although the lower levels are similar, the higher models have additional features and technology not found on the VW. The VW group’s flexible chassis allows for various components to be fitted, changing the way the car performs. An Audi will have higher-quality materials and a refined engine. A Volkswagen will be more affordable than an Audi, but will still have a lot of extras.

SEAT

SEAT is the troubled Mediterranean sporty brand owned by the Volkswagen Group. The company acquired the brand in 1986 and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group in 1990. The company has been positioning itself as the premium, avant-garde cousin of VW. Its recent success has been based on strong sales growth in most European markets. Its new logo, “auto emocion”, symbolizes the company’s new corporate identity.

Lamborghini

A new acquisition bid for Lamborghini is in the works by German automaker Volkswagen. The German company has already signed a letter of intent with the Italian luxury-car maker, but the deal is still far from being final. Nevertheless, it does have a lot to offer. While the terms of the proposed deal are not yet public, the company has pledged to retain its current management and employees, and to create a new innovation center in Germany. As a result, a new batch of 850 jobs may be created. The new ownership also plans to rebrand the brand as a hybrid, and roll it into a legal structure with Audi and Ducati.

Bugatti

The VW Bugatti brand began in the 1930s. Under the guidance of Ferdinand Piech, founder of the Volkswagen Group, the brand was revived. Bugatti cars were legendary for setting new standards in automotive engineering. They reached a top speed of more than 400 km/h (about 220 mph) and were able to accelerate to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. The company had a hard time supplying roadworthy tires for the Veyron, so in 2004, Michelin struggled to provide a roadworthy tire for the Veyron.

Volkswagen Bora

While the Volkswagen Bora looks like a booted Golf, the exterior is quite different. The front end is sporty and aggressive, and the rear is lopped off chunkily. While the Bora may not be the most desirable car on the market, it has a great deal of street cred. The front end is comfortable for the driver, but it does struggle to move on rough surfaces. If you’re looking for a good value car that can easily be adapted to your personal taste, the Bora is a great choice.
